Openworks: Open Works was founded in 2016 to rebuild Baltimore’s manufacturing economy from the grassroots up — one maker at a time! Now one of America’s largest nonprofit makerspaces, we support 118 jobs and work with over 1,000 young people a year through educational programs. We are here to support you wherever you are on your maker journey — learning new skills, launching new businesses, or building new relationships in Baltimore’s largest creative community.

Unnallocated Space: Unallocated Space is a 501(C)(3) non-profit Hacker and Maker space in Millersville, MD that is dedicated to sharing skills and knowledge for the betterment of the community. We are a group of talented hackers, crafters, and builders united in the pursuit of knowledge. Our mission is to foster creative and technical growth through open collaboration by providing tools and resources within the greater Baltimore-Washington Area.

Dent Education: Since 2017, 760 Baltimore youth have $1,015,000 in 104,000 program hours. 92% of alumni believe in their ability to shape the world around them. Denters do not simply make business plans, they launch real ventures and develop the Dent Mindsets through “I Can” experiences. We empower our students to achieve upward mobility in their lives not only by catalyzing their potential through programming, but by providing holistic support, opportunities, network, and pathways.

Teachers

• Steve Fritzinger from Nova Labs- Pepakura is the other Japanese paper-folding tradition — the one where you’re allowed to cut the paper. It’s a great way to make quick mockups of cosplay armor, check fit and sizing before committing to a 27-hour 3D print, and even build the final armor itself.

Naychan- Naychan is an award winning central Virginia based cosplayer who has been sewing and creating costumes for well over a decade. She takes pride in clean craftsmanship and adding personal details to every costume. Naychan strives to learn something new with each build and has found a real passion in bringing that knowledge to other cosplayers through panels and workshops at conventions all over the east coast. She truly believes anyone can cosplay and loves to empower that crafting spirit! Her favorite projects usually involve sewing, painting, rhinestones, and especially a crafted fake food prop.

Sayakat Cosplay- Sayacat Cosplay as been cosplaying and guesting for over a decade and has judged and hosted cosplay competitions, lead panels and workshops, and currently teaches cosplay classes and camps for teens locally. She is a cosplay generalist, working in armor and props, sewing, styling wigs, and generally nerding out over all aspects of cosplay!
