All materials provided. Try all the new things!

Free-play crafts will be in the taproom and outside, weather permitting. We’ll have all the tools and materials to try something new or go back to your favorite childhood hobby, all free-of-charge! If you don’t know how to get started, our red-aproned volunteers will be happy to help!

Fall Event Only Specialty Free Play: Mini Painting Paint & Take

Take a break from the convention-al hustle and bustle at the Game Kastle College Park Paint & Take! Game Kastle is a tabletop game and hobby shop in College Park, MD with over 100 events on the calendar every month including minis painting and games, trading card game tournaments, board game nights, organized and drop-in roleplaying games, and more! Space Marine and Stormcast Eternal miniatures provided by Games Workshop, and all paints provided by Game Kastle College Park.

Guided Workshops

Hands-on classes with experienced teachers where you can learn to make a new project from start-to-finish.

Workshop Sign-up sheets will be at the Help Desk in the Taproom 2 hours before the workshop starts. Workshops will be limited to 25 seats. Once you’ve signed up, please be at the workshop room 10 minutes before the class starts.

Fall 2026 Workshops:

Worldbuilding Repair Shop: 3-4pm

Stuck in fleshing out a part of your world in a TTRPG campaign or story? Want to further flesh out your character as a player or writer? Join us in this interactive workshop where we explore a world and its rules through objects. After writing, there will be time for sharing and questions. Great for DMs, players, and creative writers of all genres.

Speed Painting: 1-2pm and 5-6pm

Speed painting is free event where attendees learn the basic steps to mini painting, are given all the supplies, and let loose for 15mins to paint their whole mini. A short show and tell will follow for those who would like to participate.
